There have been some questions about setting up facebook groups and the use by the young people who play in the NLNL. Here is some advise, please contact our Welfare Officer direct if you have any questions.
The person who sets up the Facebook Group is the “Administrator”. Only the Administrator can grant access for other people to join the group and view the things contained within it. U18s can join the group as access will be restricted, but they must get parental permission to do. Once U18s have joined, if the parents are not happy for them to continue being members, then they can request access be removed via the Administrator. England Netball suggest that any club deciding to set up a Facebook Group, or anything similar, should produce an operating procedure and/or roles and responsibilities document to ensure everyone knows the process and are aware of their personal responsibilities re acceptable comments and images that can be posted. They also suggest that the Administrator of the group is CRB checked.
