Breast Cancer Awareness Month is fast approaching and Breakthrough Breast Cancer is asking netball clubs in London to ‘Go Pink’ and raise money to help save lives this October.
In the UK, 1 in 9 women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives, making it the most common form of cancer. We want to change this. Breakthrough is a pioneering charity dedicated to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer, removing the fear of breast cancer for good.
‘Go Pink’ at your club in any way you like; pink your post match social, pink your kits or just hold a pink refreshments stall at one of your matches. When you register (please see attached leaflet), you’ll receive a fundraising pack including some great ideas and materials to help raise those much needed funds.
Not only will you be saving the lives of women across the UK, but you will be uniting your team by supporting research into a disease which affects so many of our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.
Our scientists have made many new discoveries, taking us closer to preventing the disease. But there is more to do and we need you. If your club raised just £200, this could fund a scientist’s work for a whole day, ensuring that we can continue our vital research work at the London based Breakthrough Research Centre and our new research unit at King’s College London.
Thank you for your time and if you have any questions at all then please do get in touch.
