On Sunday 21st June at Lee Valley Athletics Stadium, Sporting Futures, a big event for individuals to take part in different sports is taking place. England Netball will be showcasing two games of the adapted rules of netball that will be seen in the World Series in October. This is a very exciting opportunity, as it will be the first time that individuals within London and South East will see the game in action.
I was wondering whether any players or umpires from your clubs would be interested in being part of this. I need 20 good club players and two umpires. I managed to get funding for 2 umpires and will be able to pay them £15 each.
In terms of commitment for interested individuals, they need to be available on Sunday 21st June. The first showcase game is at 11am until 11.30am and the second at 1.30pm to 2pm. There is a gap in between, but there are loads of different sports going on, which the players can go and have a look at and try.
Any interested individuals will also have to attend a workshop before hand which is being run by Emma Blackmore the regional talent coach. The workshop will give players and umpires the chance to familiarise themselves with the new rules and practice the game before the 21st June. The workshop will be on Wednesday 10th June from 7pm to 9pm at Middlesex University, Trent Park.
If any players or umpires are interested in being part of this please can you get them to contact me or forward their names to me, so I keep track of numbers.
Look forward to hearing from you.
