Information

The Junior League has been up and running since 1996, after the league ran a "Playday" at Broomfield Park. So much talent was noticed that we set up two divisions of under 12 and under 14. The League has been very successful and proved to be a great introduction for children to the great senior netball atmosphere. The Junior League is thriving but could always do with some new teams. A great atmosphere is experienced at every match day and gives the youngsters a good start before they can join the senior level as young as 14.

We now have 22 teams in divisions split into under 12 (year 7 and under), under 13 (year 8 and under) and under 14 (year 9 and under) and under 15 (year 10 and under). An unlimited number of juniors under 14 can play in the League at no additional cost - the League pay an annual fee to All England which covers all.

Matches normally start early October and carry on until April on the same dates as seniors but school holidays are mostly avoided. In addition, a summer under 11 league is held at Broomfield Park on Wednesday during May and June between 6-7pm . Trophies and medals are awarded to the winners and runners up in each age group at the NLNL AGM in June.

Rules are played mostly in accordance with the Senior League. Teams come from as far as Harrow and Hertfordshire. Teams must provide an experienced umpire (not necessarily qualified) and the current fees are £35.

Registration

An annual autumn pre-season rally is held in late September/early October for all three age groups and an under 11 (year 6 or under) league takes place through May and June on Wednesdays. If girls want to play, their first port of call is to contact the club, not me! However once a team is up and running then they contact me so that they can be included in the following year's fixtures.

Next Season
There will be significant changes to the running of the junior league next season. Currently being planned and administered are the time slots( to coincide with the senior games),neutral umpiring, introduction of an under 16's age group, and a more active involvement from other elected members to the junior league. More details, plus more, of all of these changes/improvements will be discussed at the AGM on June 20th. All junior club representatives will be required to attend. The meeting will be held approximately one hour ahead of the Senior AGM, which is due to start at 7.30pm and will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St George Parish Hall,London Road, Enfield. Presentation of trophies will take place at this meeting too.
